Fall Fashions

Fall is one of my absolute favorite times of the year.

And while many people love fall for the crisp air, changing leaves, and peaceful atmosphere, I happen to love it for the fashion.  Surprise, right?

There's something about fall that you almost can't put into words.  By October (for me it's mid to end September), you're tired of summer clothes.  You've worn enough shorts, you're tired of bright colors, and you're just simply ready for a wardrobe change.  Come September, I honestly want to throw away about half of my closet because I'm so tired of seeing spring/summer clothes!  Obviously I would suggest not doing that because you may not be too happy with yourself when the next spring season rolls around, but I totally can't scold you for having those feelings.  I'm having the same fashion woes as you!

But I think one of the best things about fashion is that it's ever-changing and you can always make it into something new.  Being fabulous is about switching up your wardrobe and trying new styles, and the fall season is the perfect time to do just that.

There are many, I repeat many, things I'm excited to start wearing this 2014 fall season, but here's what I call a few of the things I'm most excited about.  (Note: your version of a few may end up being quite different from mine.  Can you tell I'm ready for fab fall fashion?)

Military

Often times women think of military inspired clothing as being too manly or not for them.  However, I'm here to tell you that's simply not the case.  You can take a really structured military jacket and pair it with a more flowy feminine tank or top, dark denim, heels, and a bold lip and look extremely feminine. Don't be scared of stepping out of your comfort zone a little because you may be missing out on your new favorite trend!

Leather

Combining a skinny jean and leather.  What's not to love about that?

A look-alike pair at a fraction of the price but equally as fab.  I have these and literally I'm in love.

Okay so these are extremely daring.  I know.  But there's just something about a fire engine red and pair that with leather and it's basically a match made in heaven.  You definitely won't be looked over in these.

This is the perfect example of not having to fully cover up for fall.  Although this is pretty revealing and therefore not for everyone, if you're comfortable enough to wear something like this then go for it!  Because it's so low cut and shows a lot of skin, I would suggest being a little more conservative on the lower half of clothing.  But obviously still wear your heels ladies!

These two moto jackets with leather accents are going to be a huge trend for fall and will carry over into winter.  The leather and bold colors take these from an average jacket to an anything but average jacket.

Leather and lace are a fab combo.  I would trade the really strappy heel for more simple ones without so many straps because they are somewhat distracting with a pair of shorts that already have a lot going on.

Just because it's fall doesn't mean you have to constantly be wearing sweaters that cover every inch of your body!  This is the perfect way to show some skin while still being tasteful.

Oversized Sweaters

Sweaters have always been a popular choice for fall.  But now we are moving into the oversized trend. Longer, looser sweaters are much more popular than fitted, shorter silhouettes.  Don't be scared to buy into this trend just because an oversized sweater may be be a little bigger than what you usually wear.

Faux Fur

So so so obsessed with all of these.  Fur is a major statement trend, and it's a fun spin on traditional jackets.  They are great pieces to pull out when you want to spice up your outfit.

Statement Jewelry

Left: Pearl multi-strand necklace, Right: choker stone necklace

Necklaces take a 4 star outfit to a 5 star outfit.  Adding jewelry shows you took time into putting together whatever you're wearing, rather than just throwing something on.

I hope that after reading this, you've become more excited about fall and gotten inspired to revamp your wardrobe for the coming months.  Each season brings new trends, and you deserve to indulge in them a little (or a lot)!

Fall trends truly are fabulous, and you should always put fabulous first.

xoxo
